How many weddings do you shoot a year?
We choose to take on a limited amount of wedding commissions each year.
This ensures each couple receives our very best and that we stay true to ourselves as artists, creating unique and personal images for each couple.
We like to take a very hands-on approach with all of our packages, including consultations on timing, lighting and locations. We also offer styling and supplier recommendations on request.
It’s important for us to inspire you and have everything well planned in advance, so on the day all you need to do is relax and trust us to capture the most beautiful images we possibly can.
How do we book you and what deposit is required to secure our day?
Step one: Contact us to see if we are available for your wedding day.
Step two: Arrange a consultation with us in person, on the phone or via Skype.
Step three: If you are happy to proceed we will send you a booking form and contract to review and complete.
Step Four: A $1000 deposit and signed agreement is required to secure your wedding date, This amount is deducted from the final balance due and is non refundable.
When do I have to pay the outstanding balance of our package?
You can pay the balance in one go or in instalments, as long as the final balance is paid in full no later than 30 days prior to your wedding day.
Why do all your packages include a second photographer?
There are many benefits of having a second photographer included in all our packages.
An additional shooter allows me to deliver a wider variety of images therefore creating an additional perspective and better coverage of your day.
Having someone with me to photograph the safe shots enables me to move more freely and seek out images that I wouldn’t usually be able to capture on my own.
A second photographer is also a life saver in a tight time schedule enabling us to be in two places at once (such as one of us shooting family portraits whilst the other is documenting details shots in the room prior to the guests entering)
Finally it gives me great peace of mind and security that in case of an event such as gear failure all the important ‘never to be repeated moments’ such as walking down the aisle, the first kiss or the cake cutting will ALWAYS be covered.
What do we receive?
Digital Archive Files
You will receive the images that I have carefully curated, edited and finished. The photos will be sized for print, so you can print your photos as many times as you like.
They will also be resized for social media and email, so you can share your images as soon as you get them.
All the images come on a custom wooden USB drive inside a wooden box.
Printed Product
We offer a range of incredible printed products such as Fine Art Albums, Wood and Stone Prints and 100% archival Hahnemühle Fine Art Prints
I strongly believe that a wedding album is the best way to tell the story of your day, your wedding album is the first chapter of your family history.
But digital is the way to go, a USB is fine. Right?
It’s hard to believe that only 10 years ago the VHS video was phasing out and USBs hadn’t even had their big moment.
The digital age is changing so quickly and means, while we are storing things on smaller and smaller devices and using cloud storage we actually make them less easily accessible and run the risk of losing them for our generations to come.
Will you give your children logins to cloud based storage in your old age? An album is a beautiful, tactile way to view, share and remember that special day.
Why is an album so important?
Throughout history, prints and albums have served as an essential record of a family’s history. Nowhere else can a person find so many authentic photos of relatives and friends engaged in a day full of romance or significant events. By creating an album and printing your photos, you will be contributing to your family history by ensuring that future generations have a tangible record of how their family came to be over time.
While it may be hard to imagine great grandchildren so far down the road, it is likely that they could one day have your album passed down into their hands.
Do you offer a gift registry service?
We currently offer a gift registry service for guests to contribute towards your wedding package and Fine Art Albums.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
I want some of my photographs to be private and not used on the website or shared on social media. Is that a problem?
Not at all. We respect each clients wishes and can easily password protect online galleries so all your wedding images can remain private.
Do you prefer natural light or flash photography?
I consider myself a natural light photographer, I love natural light! Natural light helps preserve the real mood and feeling of the day and the environments.
We like to work closely with your venue and stylist to ensure that all of the lighting for your reception is well planned as people often forget how important lighting is.
Of course we do use flash when required in dark lighting scenarios and for those fun party shots on the dance floor.
We prefer the natural and candid style of photographs most is this something you offer?
You have come to the right place then. I believe photography is an art of observation and interpretation, we draw inspiration from the love, laughter, characters and atmosphere surrounding you, all the while aiming to document your story as it unfolds in a natural and unobtrusive way.
We shoot a lot of candids capturing those things, which you were probably too busy to notice like the finer details, the interplays of glances and the raw emotions that construct your day.
We want to be able to transport you back to the day with photographs that are honest documentations so you can remember it for exactly how it really was.
Nothing is more beautiful than real smiles; expressions and connections and we will be there to capture them for you with a genuine, creative and truly personal approach.
When it comes to the couples portraits, I can give enough direction so you feel comfortable yet still allowing the images to remain natural and relaxed.
Do you have any seasonal tips?
Each season is so unique and beautiful. When we have our consultation depending on what date you are getting married in we will review the sunset time for the day and I will make some recommendations for your ceremony time and time for your portrait session.
Summer weddings mean brighter sun during the middle of the day. It’s a great idea to have your ceremony later in the afternoon when the light isn’t so bright.
Ceremonies in bright midday sun can be extremely hot and uncomfortable also causing people to be squinting throughout your ceremony and portraits, so the later the better.
Winter weddings have beautiful soft light and incredible ethereal sunsets, however the daylight hours are shorter and the sunsets earlier.
Winter weddings usually have earlier ceremonies so that we have beautiful light available for our portrait session.
What is the best kind of weather for shooting in?
People often mention to me that a sunny day must be great for photography. It’s a common myth that sunny and bright skies must make images feel sunny and bright too. Harsh sunlight can actually mean unwanted shadows and unflattering skin tones. It means people are squinting or want to put sunglasses on. Yes, I can make great portraits during the sunniest hours of the day but I will be working harder to find a good balance between the sun and shade.
Having some cloud cover is the best scenario for an outdoor wedding. The clouds act like a big soft light diffuser and remove all the unwanted shadows on people’s faces and give everything a beautiful glow. Storm clouds can create a lot of mood and drama and even rain can make for fun images. The thing to remember is that we can never choose or control the weather on our wedding day but we can work hard to get the best possible photos in every weather situation.
